CHEP Pallet Pooling
Efficient solution in the supply chain
CHEP is the leader in the logistical management of re-usable packaging, providing a simple, reliable pooling solution of consistently high quality to organisations that operate fast-moving and complex distribution networks. Companies are electing to switch to CHEP due to the cost savings and increase in efficiency that they will gain as a result. We are confident that companies in Czech Republic and across Europe will elect to switch to CHEP to realise these benefits.
CHEP is a Brambles company and the global leader in pallet and plastic container pooling services, serving many of the world's largest companies. We have more than 7,000 employees in 45 countries and operate in 23 countries across Europe.
CHEP issues, collects, conditions and reissues more than 300 million pallets and containers from a global network of service centres, helping manufacturers and growers transport their products to distributors and retailers. Combining superior technology, decades of experience and an unmatched asset base, CHEP handles pallet and container supply chain logistics for customers in the consumer goods, produce, meat, home improvement, beverage, raw materials, petro-chemical and automotive industries.
CHEP is keen to promote the operational differences between pooling systems, such as the one offered by CHEP compared with White Pallet Exchange, highlighting the major cost variations and providing manufacturers with the required information that will enable them to take informed decisions.
The white pallet exchange system is difficult to manage and involves many hidden costs, such as the purchase of new equipment to replace losses and the time it takes to manage ongoing disputes with distributors and logistics service providers. CHEP offers a more efficient and cost effective solution.
Poland, Czech Republic and the CE countries have been identified as a market offering great opportunity for CHEP expansion and growth, created by market trends and factors such as customers' dissatisfaction with current equipment solutions (White Pallet Exchange). CHEP is continually working with retailers, manufacturers and logistics operators to ensure that the service we are able to provide meets their needs.
There is a demand for CHEP pallets both in the domestic and export markets, as companies appreciate the consistent quality that CHEP is able to provide and the cost saving advantages of using a pooling provider operating an international network across 45 different countries. There are also several major European manufacturers who are keen to export their products into Poland, Czech Republic and the CE countries using CHEP equipment.
In Europe, CHEP provides pallets on 4 main standard type:
- Euro size pallet (1200*800) (Wood)
- Industrial pallet (1200*1000) (Wood)
- Half pallet (800*600) (Plastic, Metal, Wood)
- Quarter pallet (600*400) (Plastic)
CHEP service offer, which consists in outsourcing pallet management by renting pallets, is a perfect response to that trend and changing needs of companies. Outsourcing pallet management to CHEP enables not only to lower their capital investment in assets by shifting from fixed to variable cost of pallet management but also, most importantly to:
- Focus on their core activity
- Generate Customer Satisfaction
- Develop a simple pallet management process
- Control a transparent cost through a set of clear KPIs
