The company CD Cargo a.s. was established on 1 December 2007 in the form of a deposit of part of the enterprise CD a.s. We are the largest Czech rail transporter. We offer transportation of a wide range of goods, from raw materials to products with high added value, as well as the transportation of containers, non-standard consignments, the leasing of railway wagons, shuttle transport, and other transport services. We offer our services on both a national and international level according to the varied requirements of our clients. The strategic objective of CD Cargo a.s. is to retain its leading position on the market for rail freight transport in the Czech Republic and Central Europe and to be an effective customer-centric company. The company aims to maximise its financial results by means of the active business organisation of existing and new orders for freight transport and to optimise the costs of transportation and the operation of the entire company.
With an annual volume of around 86 million tons we are one of the five largest railway transporters amongst the member state of the EU. We provide services to customers at approximately 1,100 places in the Czech Republic and through subsidiaries spread around Europe. Our revenues are more than CZK 17 billion. CD Cargo has more than 900 locomotives at its disposal, both electric and diesel. Customers can load their goods onto approximately 26,000 wagons of various kinds and onto almost 3,000 hired wagons. The company is concentrating its investment activities on its vehicle fleet.
Freight railway transport and traffic activities:
- internal and international carriages of wagon-load consignments, including out-of-gauge loads and dangerous goods consignments,
- realization of the combined transport carriages,
- lease of wagons, including complex realization of carriages and monitoring of the consignments,
- provision of the safety consultant´s services for carriages according to the RID, except for Classes 1 and 7,
- additional transport services,
- consultancy,
- railway transport integration into logistic chains,
- sidings operation
