When judging the success of any seminar or trade fair the deciding factor is always attendance. Without an audience, the effort put into organizing an event is meaningless. If we use the same criteria to evaluate the first ever Transport Meeting, held at this year’s EASTLOG Congress, I have to give it a very high rating. Both the pre-lunch and afternoon panels attracted upwards of 100 listeners. What other organizers can claim that level of participation and interested in their seminars?
The right mix of speakers and participants was the main attraction of this year’s debut Transport Meeting. The topics chosen for discussion hit just the right notes among listeners and the organization of the conference confirmed the professionalism and experience of the event’s organizers.
The Transport Meeting – a true meeting of people and opinions. In the tradition of a true logistics mixer and a veritable marathon of panel discussions, so many differing opinions made their way into the debate shedding new light on issue after issue. I think the goal of this meeting was more than fulfilled.
Organizations like ours have to wade through the dozens of domestic and international seminars, conferences, congresses and trade fairs on offer to select the few that are really worth attending. Mr. Drabka, Board Member of the SSL, summed up our participation in the Transport Meeting perfectly: “This congress has a future.”
