ČD Cargo, a.s., Czech Railways´ subsidiary, is the largest Czech railway carrier. We offer carriages of a broad range of goods, from raw materials to products with a high added value, carriages of containers, special loads, railway wagons lease, sidings and other transport services.
With annual volume of goods carriage of about 89 mil. tons we belong among five largest railway carriers within the frame of the EU member states. We provide services to our customers at 1 100 points in the Czech Republic and through our general representatives even all over Europe. Our freight traffic revenue reaches approximately CZK 17 billion. We own about 35 thousand freight wagons of various series.
The prime position of the company is based on its application of the most advanced technology in the industry, and on its extensive distribution network in Spain, Czech Republic, Poland, France, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Belgium, UK, Argentina, Chile, Mexico and the USA.
We ensure both domestic and international carriages according to our customers´ various requirements. Our long-term intention is to hold a market share in freight railway traffic, to increase volume of the goods carried and to strengthen our position in international traffic. The process of implementing the quality system in the vertical of freight transport and traffic was successfully completed in January 2007 by acquiring the certificate in accordance with the standard ISO 9001:2000.
Freight railway transport and traffic activities
- internal and international carriages of wagon-load consignments, including out-of-gauge loads and dangerous goods consignments,
- realization of the combined transport carriages,
- lease of wagons, including complex realization of carriages and monitoring of the consignments,
- provision of the safety consultant´s services for carriages according to the RID, except for Classes 1 and 7,
- additional transport services,
- consultancy,
- railway transport integration into logistic chains,
- sidings operation
