The 9th annual international logistics and transport forum
The annual international logistics and transport forum, EASTLOG, took place for the ninth year on April 19-21 at the Diplomat Praha Hotel. As in years past, the three-day conference presented logistics professionals with the opportunity to meet on both official and informal levels, make important new business contacts, exchange professional experiences and trade information on the latest trends, projects and logistics success stories over the last few years. EASTLOG is presented by Atoz Event, a leading events organizer with years of experience in professional conferences, trade fairs and gala evenings in the field of logistics.
EASTLOG has become an annual event offering a wide range of activities including a large selection of conferences and thematic workshops (logistics for the automotive industry, logistics optimization processes, new warehouse technology, human resources), a specialized trade fair with 50 exhibitors, accompanying presentations and seminars by exhibitors, and excursions to select logistics centers (TPCA plant in Kolín-Ovčáry, the Globus logistics center in Jirny u Prahy, and the Plzeňský Prazdroj brewery in Velké Popovice). As of this year, the EASTLOG gala evening has officially been branded the Logistics Business Mixer. This popular event stands as an informal meeting place for logistics VIPs and professionals from all over central Europe. The Logistics Business Mixer takes place twice a year, once at the EASTLOG forum and again at LOG-IN.
Conferences and workshops
Numerous case studies of successful logistics projects formed the core of EASTLOG’s program of conferences and workshops and included the opening of the Tescoma World logistics center, a presentation of 680 handling units at Škoda Auto, the Wegenstein Wine Cellars’ automated warehouse, SCM optimization in the industrial sector of JTEKT Plzeň, the Globus retail chain paperless warehouse, and Plantou – delivery planning to 30,000 Plzeňského Prazdroje customers. A host of panel discussions were also on offer. The most popular topics were the debate on the benefits of leasing warehouse space compared to building a new facility, and rail and multimodal transport in the CR and Europe. Among the themes discussed at a number of professional seminars were logistics controlling and labor fluctuation in the logistics sector. The conferences and workshops were led by Jiří Cee (Škoda Auto), Ferdinand Hlobil (Cushman & Wakefield), Armin Schwolgin (BA Lörrach University), Ivan Škalda (Tescoma), Christophe de Korver (GEFCO), Zdeněk Kašpar (SONY), Josef Černý (ICZ), Jarmila Valešková (HR logistic support), Ondřej Jašek (Ministerstvo dopravy ČR) and Werner Eberhart (Globus) among others. A total of 195 logistics professionals participated in four panel discussions, ten case studies and five seminars.
Specialized trade fair and accompanying program
Some 50 exhibitors from all fields of the logistics sector from the CR and abroad presented their products and services at the professional trade fair. The most widely represented fields were IT, warehouse equipment and logistics service providers. Among the exhibiting companies were CCV, CID, Kardex, Knapp, Westfalia Logistics Solutions, Proman, Wincanton, Madeta Logistic and Maersk Logistics. The accompanying program was presented in the form of seminars by selected companies and was coordinated by the Logistics Providers Forum which also provided wireless Internet connection at the event’s popular WiFi Hotspot. These activities were available to participants for free.
Logistics Business Mixer
The EASTLOG VIP gala evening for logistics professionals has officially been branded the Logistics Business Mixer. Held at the representative Břevnov Monastery, The Logistics Business Mixer was packed with entertainment, contests, raffles and a bartender show. Several cocktail bars and a veritable feast of culinary delights were also in offer. Some 280 guests and logistics professionals from all over central Europe attended the event.
