BUSINESS ARENA AND ACCOMPANYING PROGRAM OF EVENTS
The centrally situated Business Arena – one of the main additions to Eastlog 2008 – was extremely well received by participants. Fifty major players from the fields of logistics services, products and technology presented their wares in the form of an interactive program of competitions and other professional as well as informal activities, making the Business Arena a true venue for doing business among providers and users of logistics services in Central Europe. The regional scope of this year’s congress was introduced via the Regional Days program in which major associations, media and diplomatic bodies from Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia participated. The Regional Days program featured numerous prominent figures (e.g. Martin Varačka from Colliers International or Edith Vértes from Hungarian Logistics Association) from the Central European logistics arena who led discussions on current topics in logistics across the region. The Corporate Seminars program introduced the latest information and projects of major companies operating in the logistics sector. The EASTLOG congress also held its own Corporate Events featuring GS1 Czech Republic and Barco. GS1 Czech Republic conducted a round table discussion on the topic of RFID-EPC and Barco prepared a full-day workshop on Modern IT Systems in Logistics.
